How it works
Install on each device
Install SpeakMic Offline from Google Play (in testing for now — join the free testers group first) on every Android device in your group; no internet is needed after that.
Create or join a room
One person creates a room; others join by code or tap a nearby open room. Choose WiFi Direct + Bluetooth for outdoor or no-router use, or local WiFi mode for office and venue networks.
Press and talk
Hold the PTT button to speak — everyone hears you instantly. Multi-hop mesh relaying extends range far beyond direct Bluetooth or WiFi Direct radius.
No internet? No problem.
WiFi Direct & Bluetooth
Connects directly device-to-device with no hotspot, no router, no SIM card. Works anywhere — mountains, underground, at sea, at festivals.
Multi-hop mesh relay
Devices relay audio through each other, extending group range to ~350 m — far beyond the direct Bluetooth or WiFi Direct radius, with no line-of-sight required.

Frequently asked questions
Does SpeakMic Offline work on iPhone?
No. It is Android only, and every phone in the group needs the app installed — it talks to nearby Android phones directly over WiFi Direct, Bluetooth or a local WiFi network.
What range does SpeakMic Offline have?
A direct link reaches as far as WiFi Direct or Bluetooth do. Phones also relay audio for each other, so a group spread over roughly 250–350 m can stay connected without line of sight between everyone.
Can an offline room talk to an online SpeakMic room?
No. SpeakMic Offline rooms exist only between the phones nearby; online rooms (links and QR codes from speakmic.com) need the internet. Use whichever fits where you are.
Who can join my offline room?
Only someone who has the room's 6-digit code. WiFi Direct and Bluetooth links are encrypted by Google Nearby Connections, and in local WiFi mode every message is encrypted with a key derived from the room code.
