Channels for the whole crew, without the radio rental
Camera, production, stage — each department gets its own push-to-talk room on the crew's phones, and the AD can reach everyone at once. Built for small shoots and event crews that can't justify a radio kit.
How it works
Create a room per department
Up to 20 people each — production, camera, stage, catering.
Share the links on the call sheet
The crew opens them in the browser, or in the Android app for a locked screen.
Press and talk
Talk on the headset's button and keep your hands free.
Why crews use SpeakMic
A channel per department
Separate rooms keep the camera chatter off the production channel.
Private calls
Two people sort something out one-to-one without blocking the channel.
Call to everyone
The room's host cuts in to everyone at once — "rolling", "wrap", "doors open".
Frequently asked questions
Is there a delay?
Typically 100–500 ms — fine for coordination, but noticeably slower than a radio. For cues that need split-second timing, use a radio.
Do we need internet on location?
Yes, mobile data or WiFi. On a remote location without coverage, SpeakMic Offline for Android connects nearby phones directly.
How many people per channel?
Up to 20 per room; create as many rooms as you have departments.
Can I talk hands-free?
Press the play/pause button on your headphones to talk and again to stop.
